Cultural Heritage Amsterdam

The first project concerning our Cultural Heritage, which was undertaken by Foundation Phronimos, was the making of a documentary on the restoration and conservation of cultural heritage in Amsterdam. To our surprise we got access to some very prestigious objects.

With a small budget and a humble attitude we reached the heart of the matter in weeks. We were allowed to film a project within the Rijksmuseum, called ‘De beuningkamer’ – an exquisitely beautiful living room of the eighteenth century, which has been completely conserved and restored. We interviewed and filmed the people responsible for the restoration. Furthermore we made recordings at some exceptionally beautiful houses owned by Vereniging Hendrick de Keyzer as well as at the Willet-Holthuysen museum.

Phronimos Group raised the funds for this project in cooperation with Nederlands Erfgoed, Prins Bernhard Cultuur Fonds, Hendrick de Keyser Group and Rijksatelier.
